Project Description:
Point Cloud reimagines in sculptural form the daily interaction with weather data through time. Leng identifies weather's multiplicities encompassing what we feel and know to be true, and its inherent uncertainty. Most depictions today collapse this complexity by delivering static forecasts with numerical values or infographics. Point Cloud is a sculpture form driven by individual servo motors controlled by an Arduino. The viewer sees a mesh of undulating black points, recalling the format of clouds.
