Project Description:
Kawandeep built a Reddit visualization tool that pulls the Reddit comments from a thread with the username, ID, parent, and body of the comment. The size of the node is based on its "score", the sum of its "upvotes" and "downvotes". The original poster is orange, other nodes are black unless they post multiple times, in which case the user's comments are given a color. On hover, each node displays a preview of the comment. The visualization allows for the large-scale analysis of the structure of a Reddit discussion thread. Threads also differ from subreddit to subreddit, with the popular "Ask me Anything" forum having more comment voting activity, and thus larger nodes, than more specialized subreddits.
