Project Description:
The International Institute for General Systems Studies (IIGSS) promotes research and education in systemic thinking and encourages the development of mature theories and successful applications of systems research in all branches of knowledge.
This complex diagram, elaborated in 2000-2001 from many different sources for IIGSS, represents a family tree of systemic thinking. This project was originated in 1996 by Dr. Eric Schwarz and extended in 1998, including items from the The Story of Philosophy by Will Durant (1933). It's currently a research project within IIGSS.
Different nodes and edges are color-coded according to its major scientific realm, including: general systems, cybernetics, physical sciences, mathematics, computers & informatics, biology & medicine, symbolic systems, social systems, ecology, philosophy, systems analysis, engineering.

Have you given any thought to depicting the linkages to management theory and continuous improvement as Dr Deming taught with regards to The System of Profound Knowledge?
I believe it needs to be included as well.
Thanks,
Keith
