The Union of International Associations (UIA), funded in 1907, in Brussels, as Central Office of International Associations, is a nonprofit clearing house for information on over 40,000 international organizations and constituencies. UIA has been a pioneer in the provision of information on international organizations and their global challenges since its foundation, and it provides a vast array of databases on paper, on-line and on CD-Rom. These valuable tools are currently freely-accessible online without any log in information. On its website, UIA has a Network Visualizations section with several publications on statistics, visualizations and patterns, from 2001 to 2005. Among many examples there's a map of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) network. Amongst its 553 nodes of interaction are large organizations such as: World Trade Organization, United Nations Environment Programme, International Civil Aviation Organization, World Health Organization, International Telecommunications Union, European Commission, World Intellectual Property Organization, among others.
