Project Description:
The Synapse is a science communication initative at the Jerome L. Greene Science Center at Columbia University. The design for this space, done by the Spatial Information Design Lab, includes exhibits, visualizations, and story-telling components, and endeavors to create a public space that is accessible to visitors, from scientists to community members. The space connects the institute to the laboratories, to the wider community beyond. The Brain Index harnesses the narratives of the cutting-edge research at the institute and brings them to the audience.
